A New Gary Yeomans Ford Buyer,
    Alexis A,

Happy Customer!

Dear Troy:

I just wanted to email you about my FANTASTIC experience with Gary Yeoman Ford, Carlos, John and Eddie. I was treated with respect, care, kindness and friendliness.

On April 14th, I was searching the internet for a new and/or new used car, I contacted 6 different dealership from Daytona to Orlando, in fact twice I contacted the very dealership in Orlando that I had purchased the car I was going to trade in. No one but Carlos Calzada contacted me, not even the dealership that sold me my car in 2009. I'm still shocked and amazed that I haven't heard from them to this day. Apparently, they are not concerned about repeat/loyal customers.

Carlos called me and through our phone conversation understood that I have a very tight schedule of working 6 days a week and not a lot of time to waste looking for a car if I wasn't able to make a purchase. Carlos went through the process of getting me pre-approved and we made an appt for Saturday (04/21/12).

Carlos, John were great, I arrived a little late for my appt with Carlos so he had John help me until he was finished with another appt and then Carlos and John both took fabulous care of me.
I had the best experience at Gary Yeoman, from beginning to end ... starting with John and Carlos explaining the cars they were showing me in detail, making sure that every car I looked at fit into my budget as well as meeting my requirements. And taking such good care of me that I was treated to a great lunch at the dealership as well, by the way the food was fabulous!!!

After looking and test driving several vehicles Carlos and John, along with Eddie helped me through the financial process. While Eddie explained everything in detail, Carlos and John were super sweet and cleaned out my belongings from my trade in and then went through everything about my new car front to back one more time in case I had last minute questions. I had such a great experience at Gary Yeoman I made sure to inform your GM, as well as you.

I left Gary Yeoman Ford yesterday with a beautiful car (2010 Candy Apple Red Fusion) which I will enjoy for quite sometime ... a VERY satisfied customer and with a few business cards from Carlos and John which I plan to give to friends and family. And when the time comes for me to purchase a car again I will definitely be making that purchase from Gary Yeoman Ford. You now have a loyal customer. Thank you Carlos, John, Eddie and Troy for everything!!

Sincerely,
Melody Hagenson

J Mays talks about Ford's new EcoSport concept

ford ecosport

We're not all that hopeful that the next generation Ford EcoSport will make its way to North America, but global markets ranging from Brazil to India should soon get their hands on a production version of this comely B-segment crossover.

It's too bad that the Fiesta-sized EcoSport isn't likely for our shores. We're liking the Kinetic look and wide stance, and we're guessing that the planned 1.0-liter EcoBoost mill should be both mildly entertaining and extremely efficient. And we're not the only ones that are impressed with the EcoSport.

As you might imagine, Ford chief designer J Mays sounds positively smitten with the Blue Oval's newest crossover creation, and he recently spent some time on camera to give an in-depth look at the concept's finer design points. Hit the jump to watch the video for yourself.

2013 Ford Shelby GT500

For the last several years Ford has partnered with Barrett-Jackson to auction off some very special vehicles for charity. Past cars have included the first production examples of the Shelby GT500KR and Shelby GT as well as special one-offs like last year's Grabber Blue Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca, all of which have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

For 2012 Ford is once again auction off a Mustang for charity, but this year's car is a little different. Up for grabs will be a 2013 Shelby GT500 development car used by SVT to hone the production 'Stang. This prototype was run extensively at Sebring and the high speed oval at Ford's Arizona proving grounds and was even driven by Carroll Shelby himself during the development process. The car has some unique features including a full roll cage and Recaro racing seats, but it will likely remain a museum piece as it can't be registered for road use.

You can read more about this unique 2013 Shelby GT500 going up for auction in the press release after the jump.

They came from as close as the General Motors headquarters across the street and as far away as Santa Fe, New Mexico.

They represented groups as diverse as automakers and the military, steel manufacturers and religious organizations.

And nearly all of the 90 or so people who testified on a proposal to raise the nation's fuel economy standard to 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025 offered support for the plan before a joint government panel in downtown Detroit.

Noting that the Obama administration's proposal had won the diverse support of auto industry insiders, labor unions, consumer watchdogs and environmental groups, Congressman John Dingell said, "this is an event that ranks with the loaves and fishes."

Tuesday's hearing, held by the Environmental Protection Agency and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, was the first of three that will give members of the public opportunity to comment on the joint-proposed Corporate Average Fuel Economy rules. Further hearings are set for Thursday in Philadelphia and Tuesday, January 24, in San Francisco.

But it was in downtown Detroit, the heart of the nation's auto industry, that government leaders were offered widespread support for the 54.5 mpg standard Tuesday. Proponents said the U.S. would benefit in the form of increased automotive jobs, consumer savings and enhanced national security.

Not only did we finally get a chance to test the new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 here at Motor Trend, but we got to test it on track against the Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca at Indie Motorsports Ranch in Arizona. The Boss weighs less, but its saddled with a solid rear axle; the ZL1 [...]
The 2013 Ford Fusion was, without a doubt, one of the 2012 Detroit auto show stars. But when the show floor lights are turned off and the new Ford midsize sedan must face its increasingly competitive segment, how might it fare? Answering that now would be premature, especially since Ford isnā??t the only automaker preparing [...]
The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 is a ridiculously fast car, but Fords newest GT500 on sale at Barrett-Jackson has a bit more pedigree than the others: its a development mule that was allegedly once piloted by Ol Shel himself. The car was one of the vehicles that served as a development mule over the past [...]
