Flex
stands out in a big way.
In a world where style
is often a copied commodity, the Flex stands out in a big way. Linear
lines all around create a shape that is clean and simple, yet strong and
bold, upright and upscale. This is innovative design, bold and
contemporary, distinctively different from the wide liftgate to the
sculpted new front end with bold lettering on the hood that spells
FLEX.
Bold Style
The
shape that is uniquely Flex says, literally, volumes about what this
comfortable and versatile vehicle does extremely well. Carry seven
people in an exceptionally spacious and comfortable cabin. And be
flexible when the need for carrying your cargo takes priority. Flex for
2013 ? you'll easily distinguish it from its predecessors by the totally
new sculpted front end design and bold FLEX lettering on the
hood.
Spacious Interior
Design
Making the best use of interior space was a
top priority in the design of the Flex. It's amazing how much room
there is for all seven passengers, from the first row on back to the
third. Not surprisingly, 2nd- and 3rd-row leg room is best in class.*
And with all its luxuries of space, Flex has a new, more contemporary
instrument panel featuring SYNC® with MyFord® (SE model) or SYNC with
MyFordTouch (SEL and Limited).

Seats seven people. Hauls a lot
too.
When you have a vehicle that's this
comfortable and versatile, you know you're in a Flex. Accommodate seven
people (or six if equipped with the available 2nd-row 40/40 bucket
seats). But there are times when you need to convert easily from people
moving to cargo hauling. That's when Flex shows its great versatility,
by letting you fold just the 3rd-row seats for some extra space ? or the
2nd- and 3rd-row seats to take advantage of the maximum 83.2 cu. ft. of
cargo space available.
Refrigerated 2nd-Row Console
If you go
with the available 2nd-row 40/40 bucket seats, you can also get the
optional 2nd-row refrigerated console. Unlike systems that just keep
beverages cool, the compressor-driven unit in Flex can chill up to seven
12-oz. cans, four half-liter bottles or two 20-oz. bottles down to
41°F. There's also a freeze mode that'll go down to 23°F. Available in
the Flex Limited.
Technology geared for the
streets.
Technology in Flex helps you in a
variety of ways when you're out on the road. Take, for example, SYNC®
with MyFord (SE) and MyFord Touch® (SEL and Limited) that take
interacting with communications, entertainment and other systems to a
greater level of operating ease. Available active park assist, available
on Flex Limited, takes the dread out of parallel parking. You'll also
find features such the convenient rear view camera, available on SEL and
standard on Limited, as well as rain-sensing wipers that come on the
luxurious Flex Limited. Ford technology. Making life easier.
3.5L EcoBoost®
Engine
The 3.5L EcoBoost® V6, available in the
Flex Limited model, combines two technologies ? direct injection and
turbocharging ? to deliver the performance of a V8 and the fuel economy
of a V6.* It generates 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque across a
wide 1,500-5,000 rpm range.** The EcoBoost V6 engine, available on Flex
Limited is teamed with the traction and handling of Intelligent
All-Wheel Drive.
An infusion of smart
technology.
Ford designers create features that
do more than just make sense. They use advanced technology to make them
smart. Conventional cruise control makes sense. But offering adaptive
cruise control that can detect when traffic ahead is slowing down and
automatically slows you down, then later resumes your set speed ? that's
smart. And that's not all. Available BLIS® with cross-traffic alert
uses sensors to detect a vehicle traveling in your blind spot or
crossing behind you when you're slowly backing up. There are also
available inflatable 2nd-row safety belts that help reduce the risk of
injury while providing support to the head and neck. These and other
smart technologies ? now available on the 2013 Flex.
MyKey®
MyKey® technology, standard in
every Flex, lets you program individual keys so that two members of a
household can share a car, yet have personalized settings take effect
when they use their unique keys. MyKey is designed to help parents
encourage teenagers to drive safely. It lets you to designate a key to
operate special features, such as restricting the vehicle's top speed to
65, 70, 75 or 80 mph and limiting the entertainment system's audio to
44 percent of maximum volume. It also provides a warning when the fuel
tank reaches 75 miles to empty, allows the owner to select speed alert
chimes at 45, 55 or 65 mph, and sets the Belt-Minder® to chime, while
muting the audio system, until the safety belt is buckled.
